A woman whose grandmother died very soon at a strawberry home was able to record her telephone conversation with Zhelev shortly before his arrest. In the recording of the conversation distributed by Nova TV, Zhelev denies that people are tied up in the home and cannot explain why the woman she is talking to is not admitted to her grandmother’s room. « You never told me a special thing to me, » he says.
