Home delivery services on drugs quicker than pizza
Guðrún B. Ágústsdóttir, often called Rúna, has for over 40 years worked as an alcohol and drug addict. Over the past few decades, she has specialized in treatment and counseling with young people and their families at the Parents’ House, which uses an ideology aimed at early intervention.
« Whenever teenagers come to me for the first interview, they usually come with their parents and then the parents tell what has happened and how they got to it and so on. And I am talking to kids who are going to go this year, ”explains Rúna in a conversation with Ásthildur Hannesdóttir in Day.

She says children and young people are almost invariably about drugs through social media or online sales sites.
« They have just gone straight online, on Instagram or Snapchat or something else, and ordered any baptism they think. »
Under ten minutes to get the materials in your hands
There has been a debate that product range and service levels are nowhere better than when it comes to sales of drugs. Experience has shown that it takes young people shorter time to get drugs they have ordered online in their hands than pizza.
« And there is nothing to predict in age – nothing, » says Rúna, pointing out that high marketing of drugs takes place on social media. Finally, she says young people are a large business group of drug dealers.
« There, this is also advertised and presented to them. There is a lot of marketing going on for adolescents. Teens are a very large part of those who use drugs, » she says.
« It has become more common nowadays that teenagers have more money between their hands. Both parents let them have money, sometimes they are working and so on and thus teenagers have become a bigger market group. »
