Holiday vouchers on the card, what is lost, what complicates

The federation of patronage in the Romanian hospitality industry (FPIOR) transmitted an information guide on granting holiday vouchers on the card, after the government’s adoption of the holiday vouchers.

Thus, an employee can receive the holiday vouchers on the card if he signs a two -point statement, respectively that he opts to receive the 800 lei in the form of holiday vouchers and that he is committed to pay with them a maximum of 50% of the value of the tourist package and/or authorized/classified accommodation units.

‘Following the submission of the declaration to the employer, the employee is charged the ticket card with the value of 800 lei and can look for the desired holiday in Romania, I recommend through the travel agencies, because only we can add, besides the accommodation, and meals, and tickets to the attractions, to the festivals or to the local trips, General of Fpior, Corina Martin.

According to the quoted source, the employee can pay a stay or more (fractionated) of at least 1,600 lei – with 800 lei received on the card and with the difference from his own sources. Also, if the employee wants more holidays of lower values, for example for a stay of May 1 at sea and another in winter, in Sinaia, each time you will have to pay from his own sources the same amount that he paid with the vouchers card.

‘As a conclusion, compared to the previous years, the value of 1,600 lei per card is lost and the mechanism is slightly complicated – but the budgets will receive, however, 800 lei with which they can continue to visit Romania, completing from the own resources they allocate for the holiday or mini holidays. For 2026, we hope and we will fight to return to the functional model of the past, which has brought major benefits to the development and promotion of Romanian tourism ‘, added the Secretary General of the FPIOR, Corina Martin.

The government approved the mechanism of settlement of holiday vouchers on Wednesday, the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship, Digitization and Tourism, Bogdan Ivan, said, which is a ‘very simple’ process, which means that, first of all, the employee will give a statement on his own responsibility that he will spend the same amount for the same amount.
