The Kremlin has confirmed media reports about a planned meeting of the Russian official Kirill Dmitrijew with the US specialist Steve Witkoff in Washington. « Yes, I can confirm that, such a trip is possible, » said Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskow. Russia continues dialogue with the United States about the termination of the war in Ukraine on different channels.
The US broadcaster CNN had previously reported that Kremlin consultant Dmitrijew wanted to travel to Washington this week. It would be the first trip of a high -ranking Russian official to the United States since the beginning of the war. Dmitrijew also represented Russia in a negotiation round with the United States in Saudi Arabia. The head of the Russian fund for direct investments is still still on sanction lists of the White House. At least temporarily, they would have to be overridden to enter the USA.
Moscow and Kyiv accuse each other
The latest statements by US President Donald Trump on possible sanctions against Russia, Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin should delay negotiations on peace in Ukraine, answered Peskow with new allegations against Kiev. Putin is open to peace negotiations that Kiev alone is not ready to go this way. Trump and Putin had agreed a partial weapon rest on a phone call two weeks ago. Accordingly, energy systems should be spared attacks. A day later, the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskij also agreed to him after a conversation with Trump. However, both sides regularly accuse each other of breaking this agreement.

This means that almost 4,000 customers in both regions are without power supply. Russia, however, accused Ukraine of having attacked Russian energy systems twice in the past 24 hours.
A dead man and injured after attacks
According to the governor, Iwan Fedorow, a person was killed in the Saporischschja region. Two people were injured. According to Mayor Ihor Terechow, there was also a massive attack with 15 drones on the eastern city of Charkiw. Eight people were injured. According to civil protection, the attack was based on buildings of civilian companies, but adjacent houses were also damaged.
According to the Ukrainian air defense, Russia attacked 74 drones and drone dummy. 41 of them were shot down. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that he had destroyed 93 Ukrainian drones over the Russian field on the night, especially above the border region of Kursk.

The Russian Ministry of Defense informed about warded attacks. Ukrainian military observers characterize the area as competitive. Ukrainian units had occupied a larger area for months in the neighboring region of Kursk, but recently had to largely withdraw.
Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for more than three years. In the meantime, both sides attack each other almost every day with drones. The information from both warring parties can hardly be checked independently. However, it is clear that the consequences of the Ukrainian attacks as part of the defense against the attackers are in no way in relation to the damage and victims in the neighboring country caused by Russia.
