Hidden bank accounts? « Titles of news that are absolutely false, » says Montenegro
Luís Montenegro assured this Saturday that he did not hide bank accounts and made criticism of the way the media is dealing with the case.
« About two months ago that we have been confronted with a series of news, many of them filled in a way that I consider that corresponds to the misinformation and manipulation of facts, often perfectly normal and trivial, » said Luís Montenegro, in statements to journalists in Valpaços, to visit the Foot Fair as president of the PSD.
At issue is news of Correio da Manhã, which says Montenegro hid several bank accounts to the Constitutional Court (TC) and that questioned, the TC and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) confirmed that the Public Prosecution Service (MP), with the TC, asked the Prime Minister additional clarifications about the statement of income delivered to the TC, a response that was given to April 7.
In this sense, the President of Social Democrats stressed that Correio da Manhã, as well as the weekly Expresso, have “a pattern of news presentation that, later, have been a result that all other media, political and media agents are error and reproduce news titles that are absolutely false”.
Montenegro clarified that he has “three accounts to the Order” and that “none of them had a balance of more than 50 minimum national wages”.
« And I even said to the prosecutor what the balance they had and I have nothing to hide, » he said.
