Heroes have become this year’s pride of Croatia: ‘Read what kind of people they are, they deserved it!’
Jasenka Bastaić, Šimun Petar Perasic, Danijel Ljubic, Martin Miletovic, Anteo Cota and Robert Kalcic, Baby Lasagna, Lara Car, Zucalo, Nedjeljka Todorovic, Miro Jurkic, Ivan Djordje, Hrvoje Mužević, Amel Topić, Adin Solak, Ante Vukušić enrolled among heroes. They are this year’s pride of Croatia, the truly heroes who did not doubt even for a moment whether to help others in trouble. They made their benefit selflessly aside and gave others comfort and hope when they needed it. They are often anonymous and deserve all the attention of the world. Only one good work affect the life of many. They put the benefit of others in front of their own and are unconditionally included where help is needed. So we gave them a recognition they really deserve. Ivan Buca, editor -in -chief of 24 hours, who is also a jury member, explained how difficult it is to be a jury member.
– It’s hard, but when you have the help of people from all over Croatia, readers, viewers, who report on good deeds, humane people from their environments are help. It’s hard to decide who the winner is, but when you see all these nominations, you read what kind of people it is, it is clear that they all deserve the award. Both winners and nominees have done something good and make the pride of Croatia beyond – said Bucha. He added that in these times it was more important than ever to hear the news that something brave had happened.
« That makes it easier for everyone, » Puch concluded. Zoran Turkovic, director and member of the 24 Hours Board, recalled the beginnings of 24 hours.
– It’s been 20 years, I remember what it looked like. We finished the newspaper and we went for a drink. As the editors are always critical about everything, we said, wait a little, the film industry has its reward, the musical, the business community has its rewards, and ordinary, good and brave people have nothing, it cannot do so. This is how Croatia’s pride came about. We wanted to express honor, show gratitude to exceptional individuals whose courage and good deeds illuminate our community. In fact, their works remind us of the power of humanity and the importance of doing good – said Turkovic.
Follow the award ceremony on April 12 on HRT2 from 5.40pm to 7pm. The pride of Croatia was founded by a 24 -hour newspaper and the partner is HRT.
