Here is Sweden’s squad in cross-country skiing for the Olympic season

The Swedish ladies took care of all six golds at the World Cup in Trondheim last winter. Despite this, coach Andreas Domeij – who together with Stefan Thomson was responsible for the ladies – left after only one season.

It is now clear that former national team star Ida Ingemarsdotter and Johan Granath form a coach trio for the ladies together with Thomson.

« An arrangement that provides active continuous support and access to the coaches of the coaches in everyday life, which I believe is crucial to their development and performance, » said national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

Both Ingemarsdotter and Granath will continue with their previous roles that are linked to elite operations in Östersund and Falun, respectively, says the union.

The big goal of the season For the ski stars are the Olympics in Milan and Cortina in February. The long -term competitions are decided in Tesero in Val di Fiemme.

« We are entering an Olympic season and the goal is to further tip to the business, » says Byström.

On the men’s side, it was already clear that veteran Calle Halfvarsson is making his own venture outside the national team.

This weekend it was also clear that Vasalopp winner Alvar Myhlback does not invest in traditional cross -country skiing. Instead, the 19-year-old big talent is investing in the long-running cup.

Except for Halfvarsson Johan Häggström may leave the team. Gustaf Berglund is moved up from the development team and Marcus Grate is new to the team compared to last season.

« In comes Marcus Grate, who took his first pallet place in the World Cup last winter and Gustaf Berglund, which was twice the top ten this winter, including the World Cup five mile, » says Anders Byström.

On the women’s side, the squad remains unchanged-the same eight riders who ran in the A-national team last season get a seat.
