From the macroscopic inspection carried out by the engineers of the Technical Service of the Municipality of Heraklion, there were serious indications of static static in four homes, according to Neakriti.

The final evaluation of the suitability of the houses will be carried out by the Engineers of the Natural Disaster Impact Restoration Directorate (DAFK), who are the competent bodies for the issuance of official findings.

DAFK autopsies are expected to determine whether the buildings can be repaired or if they are considered unhappy.

Earlier, OASP President Efthimios Lekkas made a first assessment of alarming cracks on Monday morning speaking on public television.

« The sedimentation is due to landslide phenomena. At the moment we cannot specify what kind of phenomena. That is, if it is a simple territorial burglary, if it is a rotational landslide or if it is differential sedimentation. We will explore all this today. By noon we will know exactly what phenomenon is, the dimensions of the problem and the causes, « he noted.

On whether he has seen a similar phenomenon in the Greek territory he said that « we have too many landslides in Greece. The Greek space is a dynamic space, an evolving space. So we have dozens of hundreds of landslides.

The point is where these phenomena develop. Develop in areas that do not have human activities. This is a natural process that we watch and let it evolve. When these phenomena evolve in urban areas and places of particular importance, then we begin to deal with them.
