After a major collision between a Mercedes and a camper along the Brugsesteenweg, right on the border of Roeselare with Gits, the occupants of both vehicles were taken to the hospital. The camper tilted, the car ended up in the facade of a house. « It has been for sale since yesterday, » said the resident who was also slightly injured in the incident.

The major accident happened on Saturday around 9 am. A young man drove his Mercedes along the Bruggesteenweg in Gits towards Roeselare. However, things went wrong just over the ovonde. The driver suddenly turned away from his profession and crashed into a camper that came from the opposite direction. « It was a huge blow, » said Eddy Vermeir, who was doing a little further in his home that office church was doing. Three people to the hospital

We immediately opened the door so that he had some extra air. » A few minutes later, the fire brigade rushed. It was called upon to free the driver from the car. However, that turned out not to be necessary. The man was taken to the hospital when consciousness. The two occupants of the camper were also quickly out of their vehicle. A day for sale

After the accident, traffic from Torhout was diverted to Roeselare. Cars that drove towards the ovonde were still possible. In the meantime, the fire brigade had started cleaning up the many debris in the home. « We live here for eighteen years. Never anything has happened. The house is for sale for one day. Material damage can happily be repaired, hopefully those three people are doing well, » said Eddy. He also had pain in his foot after the incident. « I’m going to go to the hospital again this afternoon. »
