Health of Pope Francis. Doctors amazed in treatment
In an interview with Rai television, Professor Alfieri emphasized: 88-year-old Pope « is really making progress beyond all expectations also for us, doctors. »

He noted that On Wednesday, Franciszek met in the Vatican with medical staff Hospital to thank everyone who looked after him during hospitalization. He added that the Pope made sure that all these people were on the invited list.
« The Pope said, » I feel good, « Professor Alfieri said. He noted: – Of course he understands his age and his condition, but he feels good. He emphasized that Francis continues respiratory and motor physiotherapy.
– I feel better, convalescence has not ended, but we see when it comes out that it is better – said the interlocutor of public television.
Recalling the most difficult moments of Francis’s stay in the hospital, he revealed: – One evening we thought he would not live until the morning and he was aware of this.
« And now he told me that he felt good, that he is making important decisions, that he has the will to act, » added Sergio Alfieri. He admitted that the Pope is a « quite disciplined » patient.
When asked about how possible it is such a quick recovery, he replied jokingly: – He is really surprising, but he is a pope and has direct contact with his supervisor. We did our job, all doctors and nurses.
When on March 23 the pope left the hospital, the doctors recommended him at least two months of rest and convalescence.
