Health, cigarettes and high cost of medicine

Work and other media often report the frequency of individual diseases in our country and what to do to improve the health. We learn that lung cancer is among the most common diseases and that smoking is very often caused. As a rule, the danger and the consequences of smoking are followed. Such warnings are also found on cigarette boxes.

But the price of cigarettes is among our lowest among European developed countries. It is approximately $ 4.50 to $ 5.50 per package. Cigarettes are somehow at least twice as cheaper in our country than in most other developed European countries.

However, there is an reverse price proportion when it comes to cessation from Nicorette smoking. Nicorette chewing box costs in pharmacies and elsewhere from seventeen (17) to nineteen (19) euros, which is astronomically more than in many of the most developed European countries. For example, in Finland and in France, the price of the Nicorett box is five (5) euros, or more than three times lower than in our country. With a friend – who recently visited Norway, one of the most expensive countries in Europe, where the price of the Nicorett box is about as much as in Finland and France – we are outraged, as well as somewhat badly noted that traveling from Slovenia with a suitcase full of cigarettes, and their sale in these countries and return to Slovenia, huge profit.

However, a joke aside. How is it possible that Nicorette has such an astronomical score price in Slovenia? Where are the public health institutions that otherwise propagate the risk of smoking and the need to drain from this dangerous hazard? Where are consumer protection institutions? How is it possible for traders to allow something like this?
