The health cash desk warns that recently fraudsters are associated with people on behalf of the health cash desk, introduce themselves to its employees and ask people to name the PIN codes of their documents or distribute harmful email software. Most fraudulent calls and letters are associated with a fee for a visit to a medical institution, discounts on medicines, medical insurance or compensations for disability sheets. If earlier, appeals were only in Russian, now appeals have appeared in Estonian.

The health cash desk emphasizes that its employees are not associated with people for PIN code of documents or other personal data by phone or e-mail.

If there are any doubts about the personality of the caller, the call should be stopped immediately, and in the case of a letter, not to open any attached files and not respond to it. If you are a victim of a fraudulent scheme, contact the police.

Examples of fraudulent calls:

Further, scammers ask to provide personal data for its extension, including authentication codes via Smart -id or Mobile ID. NB! The health cash desk does not deal with this kind of appeal. The validity of your medical insurance can always be checked on the state portal eesti.ee or on the health portal Tervisportaal.ee.

Compensation for preferential medicines: you can get a call or a letter that a person has not received a certain amount of compensation for the cost of preferential drugs. At the same time, personal data is requested, including personal authentication codes. NB! The health cash desk does not deal with this kind of appeal. Compensation for the cost of preferential drugs occurs automatically when they are purchased.

Payment of compensation for sheets of incapacity for work: you can get a call or letter with a request to provide additional personal information for the payment of compensation for disability sheets. NB! If in the database of the health cash desk there is no data from a person’s bank account, he must provide them on his own. This can be done on the state portal eesti.ee, the portal of health Terviseportaal.ee, or using the appropriate form on the website of the health cashier. The cash desk of health cannot provide data on behalf of a person, or can only remind him of the need to provide data from a bank account!

The cash desk of health thanks everyone who informed us either to the police department and border guard about fraudulent messages. The most important thing that should be remembered: regardless of the content of the request, the cash desk of health does not call people or sends them letters with a request to report the Pin-codes of documents. Be careful, because security starts with you!
