Prešov, Ľubotice. The seat of the Prešov Criminal Office of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic (KÚFS), the East branch in Ľubotice near Prešov is unique in the countries of the European Union.

Its employees reveal violations of tax, customs and financial regulations and also draws up documents for criminal prosecutions for the police. However, they are still working in the premises that their former management rented thanks to the proven bribe.

Entrepreneur Štefan Poláček as a supporting figure in the big case of Mýtnik in early March 2022 was lawfully sentenced the Specialized Criminal Court in Pezinok for the offense of bribery. In two payments, he handed over 100,000 euros to rented his property in Ľubotice on Bardejovská Street 66.

Although more than three years have passed since then, the convicted entrepreneur has still earned undisturbed to the state through rent, which is closely related to the commitment of a crime. What’s more, from the time of moving to Ľubotice, tax criminalists and their own landlord have been dealing with the local tax.

There was also a suspicion of long -term uneconomical management of public finances, as the rented space was used by only a small part of the originally expected staff.

How it is possible to defend all this before the public, we found out at the Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Finance. We learned that after years only now they are looking for new suitable spaces.

There were several more. Kosice never came

Talking about the need for new premises began in 2015, when Milan Lehotský and the nationwide director were the new head of the Eastern branch of the KÚŠS and the nationwide director in several most important cases of directional politicians, nominees and oligarchs Ľudovít Mako.

As it was also publicized over time, Lehotský and Makó also had personal connections through private or business activities to the Poláček entrepreneur.

The Prešov workplace Kúss was located before renting in its own premises in the building of the Prešov Customs Office on Košická Street.

The Financial Administration concluded with effect from April 1, 2016 a ten -year lease agreement on real estate in Poláček’s ownership in Ľubotice. It is a separate village, but practically part of Prešov.

The base of the lease was formed by the main building with the ground floor and attic and the side Warehouse space.

The then leadership defended the change of work and the reconstruction of the former headquarters, more beautiful spaces in Ľubotice and by moving not only workers from Prešov, but IZ Košice. However, the Metropolis of the East has never been realized for the resistance of the local employees.

Thus, according to Corsar’s information, more than thirty people were supposed to use the generous space, but they have been less than ten in the recent past.

From this point of view, long -term lease of office and inspection spaces with an area of ​​nearly 600 square meters appears to be a waste of public resources. After conversion, an average of a large 3-room apartment is based on an average of one employee.

« It is not for us to comment on the intentions and plans of the former KÚFS leadership of 2016. Systemization and standardization of branches depend solely on the security situation and fulfillment of the service tasks, their kind and scope, » Daniel Kováč from the Communication Department of the Financial Administration of the Slovak Republic responded to Corsar.

In the original contract, the total rent for all office and warehouse space, offices of offices, 25 parking spaces and energy for over € 12,300 per month, ie about EUR 148,000 per year, was set. In ten years it was supposed to be 1.48 million euros.

It was signed by another later penitent for the financial administration of the Slovak Republic and for some deeds in key media cases convicted President František Imrecze.

However, shortly before the entry into force of the contract and the move of the Criminal Office, it was closed the first amendment.

Area office space was reduced from 496 to 277 square meters and the price from 7.90 to 6.90 euros per quadrius. The amount of rent for offices, other rooms and kitchens from 2,200 to € 1,550 has also been reduced.

These adjustments meant a decline in monthly rent according to our calculations to about 10,000 euros.

Without a change, the rent of EUR 3.90 per quadry for a storage space with a total area of ​​702 square meters remained, which was more than EUR 2,700 per month.

Up to € 12.90 per square meter was paid by the Financial Administration for the premises for the inspection service with an area of ​​91 quadrs, ie less than EUR 1,200 per month. The state was paid a monthly EUR 625 for the use of 25 parking spaces, ie 25 euros per one.

Already in six months they closed the second amendment With new items and the increase in rental price according to our calculations to the limit of 12,000 euros per month.

In March 2018, through the third amendment increased the rented office space from 277 to the original 496 square meters. Other items have also been adjusted or the overall lease has been rented to less than 16,000 euros per month.
