« He had knives, bayonet. » Shocking information about the perpetrator of the murder at the University of Warsaw
The tragedy took place on May 7. It came at 18.40 – at this time – the last lecture at the Auditorium Maximum ended. The building was left by students of the Faculty of Law. Twenty minutes later, Mrs. Małgorzata was also to end. When she closed the door, he was attacked by 22-year-old Mieszko R. He had an ax with him.
The woman died on the spot, had extensive head injuries. A 39-worker was also injured, a security guard who was the first to help. A moment later he was joined by an officer of the State Protection Service, who at that time stayed on the campus together with the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar.
The killer was immediately detained. A day later he was sent to the prosecutor’s office, where he was questioned and heard the allegations. They include particularly brutal deprivation of a woman’s life, insulting her corpse and an attempt to kill a university guard employee.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the law student pleaded guilty and is silent
A few hours after the interrogation of the 22-year-old prosecutor Piotr Antoni Skiba from the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw and junior insp. Robert Szumiata, a spokesman for KSP met with journalists.
– In this matter, we do not ask: who, how? In this matter, we ask ourselves: why? Why did an attack in a public place, a fatal attack, where we are dealing with two victims, where a respected person died, where we are dealing with the perpetration of a third year student of the law of the University of Warsaw – Piotr Antoni Skiba began an evening conference.
The prosecutor explained that so far Mieszko R. did not use the help of a psychiatrist. He also did not take any medicine, and in the last 12 months no one prescription was issued in his name. In addition, it was decided that he would go to psychiatric examinations, because the explanations he submitted raised investigators’ doubts as to his health.
He also noted that the student’s interrogation lasted for a long time and took place in the presence of two of his lawyers. The man confessed to the alleged acts, but at the same time refused to answer most of the questions.
The defender denies: Mieszko R. did not plead guilty
The defender of the accused student claims completely differently. MEC. Maciej Zaborowski in an interview with « Wprost » stated that his client was not guilty. « It’s some nonsense, » he commented, adding: « On Thursday, during 2.5-hour activities conducted by the prosecutor’s office, Mieszko R. made an extensive statement, but refused to explain, including the answer whether he admits to the act. In such a serious case, a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office who did not participate in the procedure or is in this unit should not speak or provide false information at all – he assessed.
Search of the apartment and the first arrangements
The prosecutor’s office also announced that the student’s apartment was thoroughly checked. It has not secured any evidence or traces that could be relevant to the investigation. It is also known that on the day the crime occurred, the man first appeared in the Tri -City, and then came to Warsaw, where he walked around the University of Warsaw. He had a copy of Confucius and knives and bayonets with him.
Did the perpetrator know his victim? – At this stage, there is no indication that the suspect knew the victim personally and it was a planned action in relation to this particular person – explained the prosecutor. And he added that monitoring recordings exclude reports that he had previously been walking with the ax. According to investigators, she remained in the bag until the attack occurred.
