« He controlled everything »: Cassandra Ventura testified against Sean « Didi » Combs
In his introductory words, prosecutor Emily Johnson, at the start of the trial, told the jurors how Combs used his influence in the music business to threaten and druse women and forced them to participate in prolonged sexual acts during the so -called Freak Offs parties. Cassandra Ventura and Sean « Didi » Combs began their relationship in 2007, when she was 19 years old after signing a contract with his music company. Combs made her feel « special » – but she was young and inexperienced, the singer says. « I wanted to be around Sean for the same reasons as everyone else at the time – he was very funny and holding my career in his hands, » Ventura says, adding that she quickly fell in love with him and began to follow him everywhere. However, over time, he became extremely controlling and aggressive.
Increasingly, he was subject to physical violence, after which she had bruises all over her body, sometimes chased her from the apartment he paid for, and in the meantime he did not stop organizing Freak Offs, during which she had to have sex with other men in his presence.
« This is his fantasy. He controlled the whole situation, he was directing it, » she said, adding that during this period, Kombs controlled much of her life, including the way she dressed. « I was really super young, naive and ready to please people. »

Last year, CNN released a video from a hotel in Los Angeles in 2016, which shows Kombs abused Ventura. The attack at the hotel happened after she tried to leave just such a party before it was over, she said. Cassie Ventura also spoke about the constant use of baby oil during these gatherings to « shine » more, since 1000 bottles of baby oil were found when searching the Kombs home.
The Kombs lawyer, Teni Geragos, said everything between his client and Ventura was by mutual agreement, as well as the fact that she had remained with him for more than a decade. « She made a choice, every day for years – the choice to stay with him, the choice to fight for him, because for 11 years it was a better choice, and when she made the choice to leave, she had announced it and threw himself into the arms of another man – a coach whom Kombs hired. »

Cassandra Ventura and Combs split in 2018. She is the first woman to file a case against him in November 2023.
