He complains that Sisak ‘has no money’ so he honors a raise: Orlic drives Peugeot 308, has a savings
After 12 years of Kristina Ikic Banicek, Domagoj Orlic became the mayor of Sisak. And what he did first and what else than – you gave it a higher salary. Probably because as the first man of the city with a 37,028 population, he will have a lot of work to do, so he should be honest and paid. Basically, Orlic’s salary will be € 7650.99 gross, or 4786 euros net.

He will also have greater incomes from Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomasevic, who has a monthly net salary of 4222 euros. In fact, Orlic will have a higher salary than the mayor of the four largest Croatian cities. Puljak had € 4520 net in Split, Osijek Mayor Ivan Radic has 4266 euros net, and now former Mayor Marko Filipovic had 4211 euros net.
The HDZ justified this decision by Orlic by being former mayor Kristina Ikic Banicek to have a higher salary, but this is not true. In her property card, Ikić Baniček stated that she had a reception of € 4518.59 net, but she received it as a MP, while the mayoral job worked for free, volunteer, or 0 euros.
Domagoj Orlic ‘threw’ the Minister of Construction in politics Branko Bacic, who, taking over the line at the moment when the restoration from the earthquake was seriously late, decided to « overcome » the county. Until then, he served as the director of the Institute for Physical Planning of the Sisak-Moslavina County. In February 2023, he was appointed the post of State Secretary in charge of renewal. Orlic was not a member of any party at the time. He joined the HDZ later that year.
Interestingly, at the time of appointment, Orlic was not a member of any political party. Only later in the same year did he join the HDZ after the party leadership recognized political potential in it. Previously, he was a longtime associate of SDP Mayor Kristina Ikic Banicek. His professional career at the City Administration began back in 2008 during the HDZ government, when he was employed as an expert associate.

In 2019, he moved to the county administration under the control of the HDZ, where he assumed his management function at the Institute for Physical Planning. Although his professional path took place under various political authorities, Orlic had only profiled until his entry into the HDZ as an expert, without political ambition or party hinterland.
In addition to his professional engagement, the people of Sisak also know him for sports activities – from 2010 to 2023 he was a handball coach at the Sisak Handball Club. He resigned to this post after taking over state duties.
According to the property card since late January 2025, Orlic is a graduate traffic engineer. His extramarital partner with whom he has children is employed in high school, and receives a gross salary of 2,467.25 euros a month, while she further realizes 3,464.35 euros from an independent activity annually.

Orlic owns an apartment in Sisak 97.77 m², whose market value is estimated at 140,000 euros. The apartment was acquired with a gift contract and registered in the land registers as a personal property. His partner owns a house with a garden with a total floor plan of 240 m² and an estimated value of 100,000 euros, also gained with donation.
The property card also outlines the PEUGEOT 308 SW passenger car from 2014, the estimated value of € 5,500, owned by a partner. It has savings in the amount of 30,000 euros, which was made from salaries and sales of property.
