Kaunas Julia (the real name and surname known to the editorial staff) said that her buddy was lying to the hospital because she had an open form of tuberculosis. The woman is intensively treated because the disease is contagious.

While lying in the hospital, the woman decided to pay taxes, but failed to do so. When joining SEB bank account, the woman accidentally blocked the code generator. Other measures, such as Smart-ID, did not have a woman, so she remained separated from e. the bank.

Calling to SEB Bank, the consultants offered to come to the branch and allegedly issue a new code generator.

« The man was lying in the hospital for three months, the fourth health deteriorated significantly. When she was bad, the woman tried to connect to the bank, maybe something was wrong and the code generator blocked. When her health improved a little, she was worried about paying taxes but she doesn’t have code generator. Power of attorney – worthless?

Kaunas said she had taken over a conversation with a bank representative and asked about the order from a friend. Perhaps another person can take the code generator if the patient’s request is confirmed by a notary?

« The head of the hospital abroad confirms the identity of the person and, at the request of the patient, gives an authority to another person to perform a specific action for him. I also listened to a notary. What procedure to solve the problem? The consultant said he would join something else.

Later, the woman once again tried to contact the bank’s representatives, but heard the same proposal – the problem would only be resolved after arriving at the bank branch.

« How can it be that there is no other way? After all, it is not because a person is lazy to come. He has a contagious disease. The bank manages strangers’ money and does not allow the person lying in the hospital. The notary’s power of attorney is not suitable, because such internal bank rules. »

« There are a number of ways to confirm identity with modern technology, but SEB apparently has not heard of them. For me, consultants have explained that people and bank cards are supposedly giving away, other fraud, so you need to come to the bank. Stubborn, and so much.

There are no alternatives, no measures to change the situation.

Kaunas was surprised by the reluctance of the bank’s consultants to hear that open tuberculosis was a dangerous, contagious disease. The condition of a person with her does not allow the hospital to leave.

« During one call, the consultant was illuminated and he suggested a genius idea. Says if we can’t come to the department, maybe we could come by car, a bank employee would come to a distance with any gloves and masks. This would be confirmed. I would be shocked. to betray a new code generator?

I asked me to join me with the guides, because perhaps the statistical consultant can’t really deal with such issues, change order, but obviously no one was calling the call. There are no alternatives, no measures to change the situation. I do not know what these solutions are useful, but certainly not the ordinary person. Kauno diena sent a request to representatives of SEB Bank and asked to comment on why in the world of digitalization the only way to deal with the problem is to come to the bank branch. We were wondering how, in such cases, the basic employees of the bank are not infected.

We asked to comment on how the bank’s issues are dealt with if customers are being treated in the hospital at that time. In addition, we were interested in the notary’s authority. Why is notarial power of attorney everywhere a official and approved document, but SEB is not suitable?

The newspaper was contacted by SEB representatives and said the client’s medical condition allegedly allowed her to come to the department and solve the problems of the code generator. Understand, there is no topic about what to write about. However, we asked to give a comment to e. by email, as this may be relevant to other customers who are unable to come to the bank physically due to health. A few days later, SEB representatives sent a comment.

« We are sorry for the inconvenience that the resident has faced.

In accordance with the legislation, we cannot issue a connection to the Internet Bank to another person than the client, because the login instrument is personal use and cannot be transferred to the commissioner, ”said Leontina Lesauskaitė, SEB Communications Project Manager.

“As a reminder, there are other ways to connect to the Internet Bank: the Smart ID gadget, mobile signature and so on. In order to ensure the security of the customer, we invite customers to come to the bank branch and take the password generator personally. When a resident is unable to come to the bank branch for health or other objective reasons, we can send the password generator by mail, ”added SEB specialist.

However, in the case of Kaunas, SEB consultants have never mentioned the possibility of sending the code generator by mail. Their only proposed solution was to come live at the bank branch.
