Have to set boundaries in school

The number of incidents of violence in the Alta school is scary, not least the fact that in many cases it is about serious examples of physical and mental violence.

We think that a common strategy will be crucial when pressing the right buttons. We are all concerned that the school should have good and forward -looking equipment, but we think that it must also be possible to acknowledge that the digital entry both before and after school has its price, perhaps in the form of less focus on what is to be learned.

Teachers must also have the opportunity to put their foot down. From the autumn, the school staff are given the right to intervene physically to stop students who interfere with teaching or do verbal harassment.

Thus, teachers can physically intervene against threatening behavior, slander, derogatory comments or filming, the government reported this week.

A teacher must be able to carry a student out of the classroom if the teaching is disturbed, or take the mobile phone from a student who films another student in a situation where it is not okay.

The Education Act must, of course, still set clear limits on what is okay and weed, but it must be possible to prevent vandalism, personal injuries or verbal offenses.
