Have the bets on the Eurovision semifinals – is the « star »?
A few hours are left before Claudia goes on stage at St. Jakobshalle in Switzerland, representing Greece with the song « Asteromata » in the second semifinal of Eurovision 2025.
Tonight’s show, starting at 22:00 Greek time, is expected with anxious fans and betting companies, which have already made clear forecasts for countries that consider the qualification favorites.
The absolutely favorite
Based on the latest forecasts, three countries appear to have secured, almost mathematically, their presence in the big Saturday final. These are:
- Austria
- Israel
- Finland
Their returns and their dynamics in rehearsals show pure superiority over competition, which was confirmed in the last official rehearsal just before live.
Surprises and upward paths
Australia is spectacularly climbing on yields, showing that it has gained rehearsals, while Malta, who has been in the final since 2021, seems to make a comeback dynamic. Lithuania is also positive, as well as Luxembourg, which returns to Eurovision after decades and seems to impress.
Greece’s position
Greece with Claudia has consistently maintained a place within the qualification, as it is in the 7th place in bets, even climbing a position compared to yesterday. The support of the public and the special aesthetics of the « star » seem to be convinced not only the fanbase but also the bookers.
The battle for qualifying
At the lower end of the rankings, the situation is fluid. The Czech Republic seems to be losing ground after rehearsals, while countries such as Latvia, Serbia, Ireland and Armenia are fighting chest to chest for the coveted 10th ticket to the final.
Of the 16 semifinal countries, only ten will qualify for the final, and according to the odds, seven positions appear to be almost « locked ». This means that there are three places for which a fierce battle will be held.
