Have no faith in the merger of the banks
Icelanders do not seem to have much faith that the merger of Íslandsbanki and Arion Bank – which is no longer on the table – would deliver much to the public.
In a Maskina survey on the matter, it was found that 67% of respondents oppose the merger of the banks.
Then 17% say they are in favor of the merger and 16% moderate.
The sale will not deliver the public much
Participants were asked if they consider the benefits of the merger of the banks to be great, little, or none for the public.
46% of respondents said the sale did not believe that the public would give some benefits.
32% believe sales deliver small benefits for the public and 11% said they believe there will be a great benefit from the sale for the public.
11% answered moderately.
On the table you can see the public's answers to the Maskina survey on the merger of the banks.
