Have had both breasts and abdomen removed

Bente was born in Austria, but came to Denmark as a child via an open adoption.

Today, Bente is behind the inn Club 21 in Viborg, which she took over with her husband, after her father -in -law passed away.

In addition, she also runs a coin laundry, a solar center and a hairdressing salon.

But behind the strong exterior hides a harsh story.

In 2018, Bente received an unexpected and violent message from the doctor.

She had double -sided breast cancer and the doctors were not very optimistic.

« At the first studies, I was told that the cancer had spread to it all, » says the DR star.

It was incomprehensible to the then 43-year-old woman who had neither lived unhealthy nor had cancer in the family.

But Bente refused to give up. She underwent a hard treatment and had both breasts removed. The cancer was beaten back – but not too good.

Another stroke

By 2023, the disease returned. This time in the abdomen.

The operation was extensive and Bente had both abdomen and ovaries removed.

« Of course it’s the bottom, but that’s the reason I’m here. And a lot has come-and that sounds fucking cliché-like-but in fact, some good things have come out of it because I’ve been forced to reflect on life, » Bente finally says.
