Harvey Weinstein in court
The jury, made up of seven women and five men, counted five days before unanimously made a decision that declared the former Hollywood producer one of the three points of the indictment. At the same time, he was exempt from another sex attack point, while the rape charges had not yet been rendered.
This new verdict further burdenses Weinstein, which already has an unspoken prison sentence of 16 years, imposed on a separate judgment for sex crimes in Los Angeles.
The New York trial was based on the testimony of three women – former television assistant Miriam Haley, actress Jessica Mann and models Kaja Falcon who accused him of sexual abuse, claiming he used his influence and power in the film industry to force them to have sexual relations.
Today, the jury has declared Weinstein guilty of attacking Miriam Haley, while he was acquitted in the case of Kaja Sokola. The indictment that relates to Jessica Mann has not yet been made, and the jury will continue the council tomorrow.
The original verdict of 2020, which Weinstein was convicted of sex crimes in New York, was canceled in April 2024. The Court Court then concluded that the 73-year-old Weinstein had no fair trial because the judge allowed the testimony of women whose accusations were not directly related to the concrete case.
After the judgment annulled, in September last year, Weinstein was re -charged with new sex attacks in New York.
