HARMANCI: Let’s bring our old parliamentary building to our Nicosia – Cyprus Newspaper

Mehmet Harmancı, the President of the Turkish Municipality of Nicosia (LTB), stated that the former Republican Assembly building should be brought to Nicosia and said, “As Nicosia Turkish Municipality, we want this historical building to be allocated to our municipality and becomes a living center for our Nicosia!” he said.

Mehmet Harmancı, who made a statement on the social media account, included the following statements:

“In the heart of Nicosia, a treasure that smells of history lies: the former building of the TRNC Parliament! This unique structure is in a magnificent position of the tourists who visit our city. So, why shouldn’t we evaluate this building together for the future of our city?

As Nicosia Turkish Municipality, we want this historical building to be allocated to our municipality and becomes a living center for our Nicosia!

Our dream is great:

City Museum: A museum that lives the history and culture of our city. It is a museum that is not limited to as an area where the past is exhibited and is a living part of the memory of the city.

Science and Innovation Area: A center that will bring our young people together with science.

Youth Center: A meeting point full of art, music and events.

This building can be a treasure of tourism and culture not only for Nicosia, but for our country! Let us bring this historical structure together with our people as City Museum & Science and Innovation Area and Youth Center.
