Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Ap) took the time to answer key questions from Altaposten and local party colleagues, but we highly doubt that some of the answers will provide local help in the election campaign.
We believe many appreciated that Gahr Støre finally made the trip to Alta to meet the inhabitants.
In Alta, the party’s popularity has been on low flare for a long, long time – and in the parliamentary elections that are in the process, profiles such as Irene Ojala (Patient Focus) and Bengt Rune Strifeldt (Frp) will expect the local voter enthusiast.
It strongly affects the Finnmark result, to the extent that it can be decisive for 2. Candidate Sigurd Rafaelsen. He has in a short time become a favorite in Ap centrally and at the same time shows a loyalty that is appreciated, perhaps especially in Finnmark issues where many locally are skepticism.
The meeting with Jonas Gahr Støre at Aurora cinema provided limited opportunity to answer the many questions that create debate in Finnmark. The Altaposten therefore sent half a dozen fateful cases, also from local party colleagues.
Of course, we are grateful that he did a U-turn and took the trouble to respond in a busy time, but as expected, feedback on autopilot was expected. We should not make spokesmen for populism and lack of predictability in the so -called governance parties, but the answers are not designed to retrieve voters.
It is liberating honest that Støre says « that it is not relevant to establish a third emergency hospital », but then he will probably realize that the election contribution from the Alta region is limited. There is also no touch of admission when it comes to food and specialist services on their own keel.
We become an underuse of Hammerfest hospital forever, as if population and demographics are not important. There were also no signals associated with emergency hospitals, which have been important to the local party.
