Harder to realize if videos are real
Google announced at its last week’s latest technology on its way from the company. Among the things that was introduced was a novelty in artificial intelligence services called VEO 3, with it you can create a video with good sound.
In a conversation with mbl.is, Guðmundur Jóhannsson, Siminn’s communications representative, says this means that the videos become more real and more difficult for people to understand whether it is a real video.
Here you can see a video created with VEO 3 from start to finish:
Slowly cut videos
« They also introduced other services called Flow, where you can cut videos. The videos that artificial intelligence does are usually rather short, but with this you can create short films or longer clips.
Then you can arrange them together as in image processing or editing. Google showed some short films that were created with artificial intelligence and it was incredibly cool and this is quite incredible technology. «
A certain defense
Guðmundur says that with this you can actually do anything, but there are certain defenses.
« For example, you can’t post a picture of some national leaders and let the person do something. You still see online that there are artificial intelligence enthusiasts who are testing themselves in passing these speed barriers. »
Guðmundur says this is necessary to counter fake news and information.
« It’s just become so accessible to anyone can use this and get a result that a lot of people would never think was created by a computer. »
Does not replace staff
Asked if Guðmundur thinks that this technology can replace staff, he says he does not keep it.
« I don’t think it will replace good people who, for example, cut and create something, but I think this is great as a tool for these experts to use to save their steps and make their jobs. I think people who use and may use artificial intelligence will be better and more valuable than staff who can’t use artificial intelligence. »
