Happy to hear from us
Kristrún Frostadóttir says US President Donald Trump has been pleased to hear from the leaders of states in the joint response squad (JEF) yesterday.
In a conversation with Trump, the leaders emphasized that a clear line would have to be drawn in the sand against the Russians and pushing a 30 -day ceasefire.
When asked, she says she cannot say that Trump will enforce his declaration of coercion, but that the president’s message that the United States is ready to use business constraints in the battle with others are new.
Security and Defense related to the Ukrainian War
Kristrún took part today in Summit the joint response force (JEF – Joint Expeditionary Force) in Oslo. The JEF co-operation includes the Nordic countries, the Baltic States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Discussions at the meeting at the meeting were directed, among other things, on the state of security and defense in Europe in connection with the war in Ukraine. Special emphasis was also placed on security and defense in the North Atlantic and the Arctic.
Trump would speak for a ceasefire
In a post on Facebook yesterday, Kristrún reported that the leaders had talked by telephone with both the US and Ukraine President.
Asked more about the conversation with the US President, Kristrún says:
« We were there together as a group to push him (Donald Trump US President) to speak for a 30 -day ceasefire and also make clear demands that he, in the context of more countries, would impose business constraints if Russia would not give up. »
How did he take this?
« » He was just very positive about having good relations with this group of states and of course considered it important that we meet these demands and of course was happy to hear from us. See what the Russians do. «
Called for a ceasefire
On social media Truth Social, Trump called yesterday after an unconditional 30 -day ceasefire. « If the ceasefire is not respected, the United States and the Allies will use further forces, » Trump said.
Trump has recently not been very stable in his speech when it comes to Ukraine and Russia, and what his position is in that matter. Can we trust that he will push Russia?
« I am not going to give myself what the future will be in this context, but it is quite clear that these are new messages from the US President about business constraints in collaboration with the Allies, this has not been heard before, that is, as he called it » Partnership « with other Allies. This is a definite step that is being taken. We need to hope that there is increased weight in these talks. «
