Half fewer Tesla’s sold compared to a year ago

The sale of Tesla’s in our country continues to bake. For the first four months of this year, 57 percent less were registered compared to the same period last year. To convince customers, the American car brand is now launching an interest -free loan on the model Y.

The sale of the American brand has certainly had better times in our country. In April there were 570 new registrations, more than a halving compared to the same period last year. For the first four months it is a decrease of 57 percent to 3,589 registrations, according to the latest figures from Automobielfederatie Febiac.

Tesla continues to have a hard time elsewhere in Europe. Critics point to the controversial political role that CEO Elon Musk takes on in the Trump government. Musk himself already acknowledged that his job at the head of the American Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) – the advisory committee for government efficiency – « a lot of costs ». From this month he would reduce that role and focus more on Tesla, it sounded after disappointing quarterly results.
Leasing
The total car sales fell by 4.7 percent in Belgium to 37,812 new cars. A decrease was recorded especially at companies (-12.1 percent), says Febiac. Here too, Tesla shares the blows. The number of cars ordered through leasing companies has fallen sharply.
For the first four months it is a decrease of 9.2 percent, to 158,751 new cars. For motorcycles there was an increase in April for the first time this year (+3 percent).
Most popular car brands from the Belgian are BMW, Volkswagen and Mercedes.
