Hafnarfjordur is based on an old foundation
Construction has begun on the Reykjavík Road 60-62 in Hafnarfjordur, but work is in full swing on the demolition of the old houses, which will rise to apartment buildings with 106 apartments where there will be shops on the first floor but apartments on the upper and the car basement.
This is stated in the announcement by Hafnarfjarðarbær.
« We have been waiting for this. I look forward to seeing the neighborhood take on a new future picture, » said Valdimari Víðisson, mayor of Hafnarfjordur, who visited the construction site, Hraun west.
The size of the apartments on the box will be different. They range from two to four rooms. Balconies will either be roofed, built -in or outstanding. There will be good access to parking spaces west of the house.
Ólafur Páll Snorrason, Managing Director of OS Building ehf, says that the aim is to demolish the house in stages, dig for basement and cast up. It can be expected because it will be cast in December.
A big step taken with the structure of lava west
Valdimar says it is very gratifying to follow Hafnarfjörður growing and changing. Not only has the development been high in Hamranes and aimed for a great deal of development around the harbor, but is now also a big step with the development of lava west.
« There are great opportunities in the future development of the area. It will now be from a new face and make positive changes, » says Valdimar.
He says the area is turning into a central area, which assumes mixed settlements.
« This means that apartments may be allowed to mix with business activities and it is therefore assumed that the fields will continue to have room for the existing activities. Among other things, we are seeing here on the Reykjavík Road today, which marks the beginning of the development of the area as a whole, » he says.
It is planned that the neighborhood will be so -called 5 minutes. It is that about a five -minute walk away from its center to all services.
