Guy D’Haeseleer takes the last East Flemish mayor Eed with provincial governor: « Now I will first look out » (Ninove)
Guy D’Haeseleer (Forza Ninove) has now also confirmed his mandate as mayor of Ninove at East Flemish Provinciegouverneur Carina van Cauter. In her official residence in Ghent, he took the oath on Tuesday evening. This makes him the last East Flemish mayor who was invited to the Governor.
An investigation into possible tampering with illness and attorney delayed the entire procedure for the first Vlaams Interest Mayor of Flanders to take the oath with the Governor of East Flanders. Forza Ninove, with Guy D’Haeseleer, won the municipal elections in Ninove with an absolute majority with Guy D’Haeseleer.
Despite the judicial investigation, no one objected to the election results, but it was nevertheless for the elected mayor of Ninove waiting until Tuesday evening before he was allowed to take the official oath as mayor. That is almost half a year after he won the elections. He is therefore the last East Flemish mayor who had to visit the official residence of the Governor.

« I have not waited at the moment to include all my mayoring in Ninove. After the oath in the city council, I immediately started working. The oath to the governor is of course a solemn moment and the crown of thirty years of work is still running. The judicial investigation is still running, but I have not made it to all formalities now.
