Guy D’Haeseleer has just left the hospital. « I’m glad I can finally go home, » said Ninove mayor relieved on Saturday afternoon.
D’Haeseleer, mayor of Ninove and leader of Forza Ninove, can continue to recover at home after the liver transplant that he had to undergo four weeks ago. On Saturday shortly after noon he was allowed to leave the hospital in Ghent. « I am no longer in pain and my liver is doing well, » says D’Haeseleer, who has to go to the hospital twice a week for follow -up.
« The problem was that some blood values were not good. That still has to be monitored. But I am relieved that after 45 days I can finally go home and to my family. It was time. »
D’Haeseleer was admitted to the hospital on 3 April with a heavy form of hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver. The liver transplant he needed to survive, took a long time, but eventually continued.
On Friday the message came that he had to stay in the hospital for longer, but on Saturday D’Haeseleer got good news. (BSB, DGK)
