Joy, cheers and the price of hard work: In Frankfurt, the new Michelin stars were awarded on top kitchens in Germany on Tuesday. The second year in a row there are as many star restaurants in Germany than ever before.

A total of 341 companies can decorate themselves this year with at least one star of the gourmet guide « Guide Michelin ». This emerges from the 480-page restaurant guide, which is scheduled to appear at the end of July.

A total of twelve restaurants are allowed to wear the highest Michelin award in 2025 and decorate themselves with three stars. Two new restaurants were recorded in the top kitchen Olympus on Tuesday.

A rarity, because « recently the selection recorded more than a new addition to the culinary summit in 2008, » said the organizers.

This year the “Haerlin Restaurant” in Hamburg is added. « With perfect compositions from top products in excellent balance, three stars are deservedly deserved here, » it said to award chef Christoph Rüffer from the inspectors. « I am happy and grateful that our profession here is valued by the Michelin guide, » said Rüffer when awarding the award in Frankfurt.

In Munich, the “THRU in the writing” can look forward to three stars. « With his own handwriting and sensitive stylistics, he succeeds in an extremely exciting connection between Japanese-inspired and classic-French cuisine, » said the inspectors and appreciated boss Tohru Nakamura, who had been awarded two stars last year. « First of all, I have to express my greatest thanks to our team, » he said. Three stars were a dream for him, then a goal and ultimately also Mindset, Tohru Nakamura explained after he had put on the Guide Michelin’s cooking jacket, who received all the excellent restaurants.

In addition to the two, ten more restaurants have three stars in this country: the « Rutz » in Berlin, « Bareiss » and « Schwarzwaldstube » in Baiersbronn (Baden-Württemberg), « Jan » in Munich and « ES: Senz » in Grassau (Bavaria), « The Table » in Hamburg, the « Aqua » in Wolfsburg (Lower Saxony), in Rhineland-Palatinate The « Waldhotel Sonnora » in Dreis And the «Schanz. Restaurant »In Piesport and in Saarland« Victor’s Fine Dining by Christian Bau »in Perl.

New one and two-star restaurants are also excellent

The inspectors of the “Guide Michelin” also rated 47 restaurants with two stars. In the future, a total of five new restaurants can decorate themselves with the award: « Oswalds Gourmestube » in Teisnach (Bavaria), « Gotthardt’s by Yannick Noack » in Koblenz and the « Intense » in Wachenheim an der Weinstraße (Rhineland-Palatinate), the « Pietsch » in Wernigerode (Saxony-Anhalt) and the « Atama by Martin Stop » in Sankt Ingbert (Saarland).

282 top kitchens were rated with a star – 30 of them. Kitchens that pay particular attention to environmentally conscious and resource -saving gastronomy can be awarded a green star.

In 2025, 80 restaurants (14 new) can look forward to it – three more than in the previous year. The trend towards plant -based cuisine continues this year, and regionality and seasonality are still important in the choice of product, said the international director of Guide Michelin, Gwendal Pullennec. « 80 green stars impressively prove this. » Germany is a “Culinary Powerhouse”, ie a culinary power package in Europe. The scene often does not know how strong it was, said Pullennec.

33 kitchens had to give up one or more stars because they are closed or a new concept or has worsened the quality. Around two dozen testers are anonymously in Germany in Germany. The allocation of the coveted stars is based on a uniform evaluation system – regardless of which country.

The quality of the products, a personal grade, the price-performance ratio and a permanent quality in the long run are the criteria.

The small red travel guide “Guide Michelin” should move more drivers to travel more than 100 years ago and thus boost the paragraph of the French tire company Michelin.

The travel guide, which was first published in 1910, initially contained tickets and tips for car travelers to refuel, change tire, eat and spend the night. The first stars for upscale gastronomy were finally awarded in 1926. In Germany there were the first Michelin stars in 1966.

In addition to the “Guide Michelin”, the restaurant guide “Gault & Millau” also appears regularly as an important international gourmet guide. He awards chef hats for excellent culinary art.
