Growth is a pussy and brittle

The Macroeconomic Analysis and Development Office announces 2.1 % GDP growth this year and 2.4 % for next year. The realization of US customs duties on European products and retaliatory measures would reduce Slovenian economic growth by half a percentage point this year, with additional 25 % customs on cars would increase this effect, said the VD Director of the Office for Macroeconomic Analysis and Development (Umar) Maja Bednash.

A quick analysis of the publication shows that such growth would be higher than last year, but at the same time it is very fragile. The main growth generator was domestic consumption, which can also dry up if people leave money from wages at the bank. Small growth can be fed or completely erased customs with their direct and indirect effects. All this means that we are close to stagnation.

But more than the information itself for this year and next year, the care causes a medium -term view. Thinking about 2021, when the Pokoron reflection was forceful, we must be concerned about the graph between 2022 and 2026. Our growth has been twisted, or there will be a half -percent point in the waist or minus in the waist. In my estimation, this is not enough to preserve the standard of life as we have as a country. It is not enough for all the needs we have as a fast -dating company with low fertility. Too little for the bureaucracy and hyperinflation of regulations that lame the daily life and business of companies. Too little to fund healthcare.

Cosmetic corrections in the style of « I am a million euros, a million euros there » will not work. It will also not go cosmetic corrections of legislation. And not even if we invest a hundred million euros as a country in Kanin's cable car, as this money will never be returned and will only earn the supplier of equipment from abroad. Slovenia needs something completely new, both in the way of managing politics and in the economy, which operates in a very demanding business environment, which establishes politics. Slovenia needs something braver. However, it may be time for any of the state bodies to be abolished or disseminated by a public media service that devours millions of euros. The key is to make a thought leap and start operating the country differently. Otherwise, there will be no growth.
