Groningen presents new provincial government, five months after Val previous coalition
Groningen has a new College of Provincial Executive almost six months after the fall of the previous coalition. BBB, VVD, GroenLinks and PvdA together form the new coalition. The parties presented the 'Mit Mekoar' coalition agreement (together) on Tuesday evening after almost two months.
The previous coalition of BBB, Groninger Belang, ChristenUnie and PvdA fell in September last year After a conflict about the development of a wind farm at Eemshaven. Ten years ago it was already agreed that there would be 24 wind turbines. In the outline agreement, the coalition had agreed not to construct new wind farms, but to let the existing plans – as in the Eemshaven – continue. The BBB nevertheless voted against the construction of the park, after which the ChristenUnie killed the confidence in the coalition. The parties could no longer continue with each other.
The new agreement again states that the coalition sees no room for new plans for large-scale wind and solar parks on land.
Gouke Moes (BBB), Leo Wenneger (BBB), Pascal Roemers (PvdA), Karin Dekker (GroenLinks) and Erik Jan Bennema (VVD) become the new deputies. The four groups want Susan Top, who was partyless deputy for the gas file in the previous college. She was responsible for, among other things, the damage repair and the strengthening of houses.
The new college will be installed on March 19.
