Grindeanu, about the « Highway of Bucharest ». When will it be ready?
The Minister of Transport, Sorin Grindeanu, provided recent details regarding the stage of the works at the Bucharest Belt Highway, emphasizing the significant progress registered so far and estimating the deadlines of the four lots still under construction.
In a message posted on Tiktok, Grindeanu said that the works on the southern semicircle of the highway advanced considerably. Of the three lots in this area, two were already open to circulation. « The lot that will close the last piece of highway between A1, which connects Bucharest to Pitesti, and A2, which leads to Constanța, will be completed at the beginning of this summer, » said the minister.
Regarding the northern semicircle, Grindeanu announced that 20 kilometers were already in circulation, linking DN1 to DN2. As for the other two lots in this area, which extend from DN2 to A2, they will be completed by the end of this year. « The last lot, which connects A1 to DN1, will be ready next year, » the minister added.
Thus, official estimates indicate that at the end of next year, the entire A0 highway will be fully functional, allowing the uninterrupted traffic on the approximately 100 kilometers around Bucharest.
