Green: The United States should persuade Russia to accept the ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski thanked US President Donald Trump for « the constructiveness of talks between our teams » that took place today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In a video processing, Zelensky reiterated that the Ukrainian position is to accept today's US proposal for ceasefire in the sky, the sea and the front.
« We consider him a positive step, » he said, adding that the United States « must persuade Russia » to agree to the deal.
As a significant part of today's conversation, Zelenski stressed the US agreement on renewing intelligence with Ukraine.
Ukraine is ready for peace, he said, adding: « Russia must show whether it is ready to stop the war or continue it. It's time for the full truth. I thank everyone who helps Ukraine. «
The head of the cabinet of Ukrainian President Andriy Jermak, who participated in the talks, also thanked the United States for the « constructive meeting ».
In a post on the social network X, Jermak stressed that « protecting Ukraine's interests is the most important for us. »
Righteous peace is crucial for us, he added, noting that Ukraine is seeking « lasting peace ».
