Green: Crimea, like all over Ukraine, must be free
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said today that Crimea, like all over Ukraine, must be free, saying that all empires throughout history have been ousted.
On the occasion of the Day of the Struggle for the Rights of the Crimean Tatars, which is celebrated today in Ukraine, Zelenski in a Facebook announcement reminded that the Soviet authorities have begun the deportation of the Crimean Tatars of Crimea 81 years ago, Ukrinform reported.
« Today is the day that reminds us of why all brutal empires deserve to fall, » said Zemeski, noting that 81 years ago a whole nation was expelled from their home country « and thrown on the road that became a death sentence for thousands and thousands of people, for many families. »
He recalled that at least one -third of the Crimean Tatars had died due to illnesses, hunger, exhaustion and abuse.
According to Greenski, that tragedy was made possible by the « criminal totalitarian system and impunity for Moscow leaders ».
Greenski said such a tragedy should never happen again, but that in 2014 there was another Russian occupation of Crimea and because of this, thousands of families are now re -separated.
« We have to fight for freedom and our home again, » Zelenski said on Facebook.
