Great presence at the vote in the diaspora
More than 103,000 voters appeared at the ballot box in the diaspora, until Friday at 9:00 pm (Romania time), to vote at the first round of the presidential elections, according to the data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority.
According to the AEP, from the opening of the ballot boxes, respectively on Thursday evening, 22:00 at Romania (7:00 local time) and until Friday at 9:00 pm, 103,896 Romanian citizens were presented.
Also, 4,106 voters voted by correspondence, the total votes expressed abroad being currently 108,002.
Most Romanian voters voted in Italy – 17,596, Germany – 16,168, Spain – 14,740, United Kingdom – 14,226, Republic of Moldova – 11,646.
In France, 4,865 Romanian citizens, and in the United States and Canada, 866, voted in France.

The vote in the diaspora in the presidential elections takes place during three days, from Friday to Sunday:
* Friday, May 2, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local hours);
* Saturday, May 3, between 7:00 and 21:00 (local hours);
* Sunday, May 4, between 7:00 (local time) and 21:00 (local time of Romania).
In the 965 polling stations in the diaspora organized for this year’s presidential elections, Romanian citizens who are abroad can vote on the day of the election, whether or not they have their domicile or residence abroad.
