Great Police Operation to locate stolen vessels and their engines
The Hellenic Police participated, through the Organized Crime Management (AIOE) and in particular of the Crimes Agency, with the assistance of the Coast Guard-Hellenic Coast Guard, as well as police officers from the Police Department of the Police Department, the Police Department of the Police Directorate Code name « Joint Action Day Stolen Boats 2025 ».
In the business, intensive controls were carried out on marinas marinas in various ports as well as in parking and guarding vessels in areas of Attica, Messinia as well as Argolida, with the aim of identifying stolen vessels and engines.
Was checked in 718 vessels of different types
In total, as announced by ELAS, 614 motor boats, 104 sailing boats, 27 jet ski as well as 680 vessels and two stolen motor boats and 2 stolen vessels were found.
In particular, the boats, which had been stolen in Greece, were found in a boat parking lot in Kalamata and Aspropyrgos, while the vessels, which had been removed from Croatia and Norway, in a boat parking in Lavrio and Nea Peramos. The total value of the deducted is € 130,000.
As noted in the ELAS announcement, the Joint Operational Action is part of the Empact priority and was implemented from 9 to 16 May 2025, while on May 6 to May 8, 2025, a operational meeting was preceded by the Criminal Investigations Division. This action is part of a broader European action organized by Greece, co-organized by Frontex and participated in European Union Member States, such as Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia, Latvia Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
Third countries, such as Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and Norway, also participated.
