Great changes can come into effect on Spanish roads

The Spanish Directorate General for Transport (DGT) is preparing a new bill that would prohibit Waze and Google Maps from indicating the location of police checkpoints and mobile speed meters in real time. According to DGT, these notifications allow for infringements, such as drunk or circled drivers, to avoid checks, threatening road safety.

The purpose of the planned law is to prevent police checks from sharing location in any form, including navigation applications and social media. According to DGT, this measure is essential to improve road safety.
