The ex-minister and his best man are said to have been informed by the court about the start of prison.
The time has come: Former Finance Minister Karl-Heinz Grasser (first FPÖ, then ÖVP-close) and his best man, former FPÖ general secretary Walter Meischberger must be in prison within one month. As the « Standard » reports on Thursday, referring to the Vienna Criminal Court of Criminal Court, the judge signed the letter of call for the start of prison on Wednesday. The law firm is said to have sent the documents. The lawyers receive the documents electronically, the convicts are also informed by the RSA letter.
Grasser’s lawyer Manfred Ainedter is indirectly cited in the report: It could be that the letter of call has already been received electronically in the firm, he said. Grasser’s lawyer Norbert Wess said that the court will send the request to take the criminal off and Grasser. The lawyer of Meischberger has so far not made a statement, that of the former lobbyist Peter Hochegger, who was also convicted, has not yet been reached.
