Government adopted new strategy for confiscation of illegally acquired property
At today’s session, the government adopted a strategy for strengthening the capacity for financial investigations and confiscation of property for the period 2025–2028, along with the Action Plan, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Good Governance Policy Arben Fetai said.
This document, as it states, reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to combat organized crime and corruption, by strengthening the competent institutions with a structured and systematic approach, which aims to increase the efficiency of the confiscation of illegally acquired property.
– The fight against corruption and organized crime remains a top priority of the government. Therefore, providing conditions and strengthening institutional capacities for financial investigations and confiscation of illegally acquired property is at the center of our efforts. One strategy, no matter how good it is, remains only a document if it is not efficiently implemented. Therefore, we strengthen the monitoring and surveillance mechanisms by establishing the National Council for Financial Investigations and Confiscation of Property, which will ensure successful implementation of the established goals- emphasizes Fetai.
He also points out that his cabinet will play a central role in coordinating and supporting these efforts, ensuring a constant commitment to the realization of the strategy.
