GORS will open the summer season with the show / day of clown master Tom Monkton
One of the most famous representatives of today’s clowns is Tom Monkton (Thom Moncton, New Zealand/Finland) visits Latgale thanks to Latgale Embassies Gore Collaboration with Riga Circus.
Endling is designed as a retrospective – the show combines the brightest fragments of Monkton’s previous works, including Only bones v1.0, The Pianist, The Artist and The King of Taking. They are connected in a new story that uses physical comedy, mimicry and work with objects. The dialogue in this show is not used – the focus is on the body’s expressiveness and accuracy.
This is Tom Monkton’s last solo show. He has been in the physical theater for more than a decade, creating performances that combine absurd humor with visual and theatrical elements. Known for its precise movements, recognizable style and shows that attract both children and adults. Monkton was born in New Zealand, studied in the prestigious Jacques Lecoq Theater school in Paris and has been one of the circus association since 2008 Kallo Collective for the founders.
