Gopo Awards Gala or Romanian Oscars
The Gopo Awards Gala celebrating the film achievements of last year takes place this evening, at the « Ion Caramitru » Hall of the « IL Caragiale » National Theater in Bucharest.
Over 900 guests from the world of Romanian film are expected to participate in the event presented by the stand-up actor Claudiu Teohari.
The actors Tudor Chirilă, Rodica Mandache, Ana Ularu, Dana Rogoz, Adela Popescu, Claudiu Bleonţ, Mihai Călin and Mihaela Sîrbu, the directors Andrei Ujică and Florin Şerban or the Maurice Maurice and Domnica Mărgescu are among those who will climb the stage of the Bucharest national.

For the nominations for the Gopo awards, two pre -selection juries were set up – for the category of feature films and for the documentary and short film categories.
The jury for feature films consisted of 11 professionals in the film field – film critics Dana Duma and Ion Indolean, journalist Anca Vancu, directors Marian Crişan and Constantin Popescu, actress Maria Popistaşu, film producer Anamaria Antoci, Image director Ana Drăghici, film curator Bogdan Movileanu The screenwriter Florin Lăzărescu.
Five professionals from the industry were part of the documentation and short films: film critics Cezar Gheorghe and Andreea Chiper, director Serban Georgescu, film producer Velvet Moraru and film selector Anca Păunescu.
During the event will be offered the prize for the entire activity of the director Dan Piţa, the prize for the entire career of the actress Ioana Pavelescu, the special prize of the Light Master Ion Olteanu, and the prize for the entire activity of the image director Florin Mihăilescu.
The Gopo Awards Gala is organized by the Association for the Promotion of the Romanian Film with the support of the National Center for Cinematography and Babel Communications.
