Gonxhja-Biggs, the Agreement for Drafting the National Strategy of Creative Economy is signed
The Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxha and Kate Ewart Biggs, Deputy CEO and Director of International Operations, signed today in Kotor, Montenegro, the agreement for the drafting of the national strategy of the creative economy. Gonxha called the British Council agreement, good news for Albania.
The strategy will be designed by some of the best British and international experts, including John Newbigin, Ambassador of the Mayor of London for the Creative Economy. Gonxha said that this strategy will include a series of legal reforms in the main sectors of the creative economy, such as: cinematography, audiovisual media, sponsorship law, innovation, youth employment, design and crafts, cultural tourism and fiscal and social incentives.
According to him, the first fund of this package will be immediately put into operation of the strategy, while the second round of funding will be announced in October during the Berlin Process Conference. This initiative is also supported by the World Bank, through a plan dedicated to promoting youth employment in the fields of culture and innovation.
« This is an important moment for Albania, a concrete step towards a new economic model, which invests in human capital and affirms our country’s creative identity and energy on the international stage, » Gonxha said.
