GNR detained 11 drug trafficking suspects in Porto and Vila Real
GNR detained 11 suspects of drug trafficking and dismantled a network that worked in the districts of Porto and Vila Real. The investigation triggered by the Vila Real Criminal Investigation Center (NIC) took place over two years and culminated on Tuesday with the detention of nine men and two women, aged 26 to 34.
The GNR operation focused on the municipalities of Porto, Santa Marta de Penaguião and Vila Real and was supported by PSP.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the Vila Real Territorial Command said the military carried out police due diligence that allowed the suspects to act in an organized manner and dedicated themselves to drug trafficking in the districts of Porto and Vila Real.
The investigation culminated in compliance with 11 arrest warrants and 34 searches, 14 households, five in annexes and 15 in vehicles.
During this operation, GNR seized 222 doses of cocaine, 11.4 doses of cannabis, 19.54 doses of hashish, 25.8 doses of MDMA, 843.6 doses of amphetamine, a firearm, 37 ammunition of different calibers, a safe, two levers, an extensible stick, five white weapons, one taser (disguised as a flashlight), one Wooden club, computer material, two laptops, a tablet and 12 mobile phones.
A video surveillance chamber, a GPS locator, 34 hermetic bags, diverse packing material, five precision scales, one of them disguised, two mills and 17,732 euros were also seized.
The detainees begin this Wednesday afternoon to be heard at the Vila Real Judicial Court to apply any coercion measures.
