Give them Julia | Ukrainian Truth

In March 2025, there were many scandalous statements related to the Russian-Ukrainian war: mostly Donald Trump’s mouth and other American speakers. But at least one contradictory statement belonged to an influential European. The head of German intelligence BND Bruno Kalun statedthat if the war in Ukraine ended earlier than 2030, aggressive Russia will be more likely to be a threat to Europe.

Of course, the words of Kaly could be interpreted as a desire to protect the European Union through the prolongation of Russian-Ukrainian confrontation. This is how the political long -lived Yulia Tymoshenko, who published Angry post in social networks.

« At the cost of Ukraine’s very existence and the cost of lives hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, someone decided to pay for the » exhaustion « of Russia for the sake of security in Europe? I did not think that it dare to say so officially and openly … It explains a lot », «  – wrote a fiery oppositionist.

But, most likely, Yulia Vladimirovna moved not high patriotic feelings, but the desire to prepare for possible elections and to settle a new promising narrative. The narrative that cowardly and selfish Europe uses Ukrainians as a live shield.

The attempt to protect against the external threat, hiding with someone else, looks as logical as immoral.

It is no coincidence that this storyline is in the finale of the famous 1984 dystopia. When Orwell’s hero does not withstand cruel torture rats, his moral surrender marks his willingness to put a loved one instead:

« He suddenly realized that there is only one person in the world to whom he can shift his punishment – only one body can he intercede himself from the rats. And he shouted frantically, once once:

– Give them Julia! Give them Julia! Not me! Julia! I don’t care what you do with it. Break her face, bite to the bones. Not me! Julia! Not me!« .

If Ukraine feels itself in European Julia, whose EU body has embarrassed from Russian rats, then the negative consequences of such sentiment will be difficult to overestimate.

In the eyes of our compatriots, this will be a betrayal of those values that democratic Europe embodied for many years. The anti -American resrential, which is already beating Ukraine thanks to Trump and KO, will also be added anti -European. And those who want to play on this will be found not only in Kiev, but also in Moscow.

Moreover, it is likely that, having felt like a collective Julia, disappointed Ukrainians will want to change roles with Europeans. Respond to another’s selfishness with their own national selfishness. To give up the joint counteraction of the Kremlin evil-and try to bring your own country from a blow at the expense of someone else.

Now in Kiev continue to argue about a hypothetical truce with Russia. And few of us doubt that the pause in the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation will be used by the Kremlin to restore strength and prepare for new attacks.

In addition, many are convinced that in the event of our defeat, Russia will go further and attack European NATO members: especially since Trump’s functionality of the Alliance as a collective security tool was questionable. Most often, potential victims are Baltic countries that are not exactly able to reflect the invasion of the Russian Federation without someone else’s help.

But can Russia attack Europe without reaching the defeat of Ukraine, but simply freeing up its troops that were stuck in Ukraine? Is there a chance that in the case of freezing of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Kremlin will choose a new, more promising goal for armed aggression?

Purely theoretically – yes. For a great desire in history, you can even find a similar precedent.

In 1980 Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein started fighting against Irancounting on a small victorious war. However, the plans for Blitzkrig were destroyed, and the confrontation between Baghdad and Tehran was one of the most prolonged and bloody conflicts of the second half of the twentieth century.

Only in 1988, after eight years of exhaustion, a truce was concluded. The lasted adventure was very expensive: about 180,000 dead soldiers, 2500 tanks and 305 lost aircraft, $ 342 billion in economic losses.

However, two years after the armistice of Hussein again took up the weapon and unleashed A new war. Only this time the Iraqi ruler attacked not Iran, but a little Kuwait. And this time, the Blitzkrig really succeeded: the Kuwait army was defeated in a few days.

If it were not for the intervention of the International Coalition, the conquest of Kuwait would remain a small victorious war for Baghdad.

Thus, nothing prevents the current Ukrainians from believing that the military aggression of the Russian Federation can be eliminated by redirecting it to someone else. And Ukraine will be able to stay away from the new war and heal its own wounds.

Let Russian boots not tread ours, but someone else’s land! Let Russian rockets and shock drones terrorize us, but someone else! Liberal Europe is not Ukraine. It will not be protected with the same perseverance as we are. In Europe, they are too accustomed to peaceful and comfortable existence. In Europe, they appreciate the lives of their citizens very high. In Europe, they pay too much attention to human rights.

Europeans are scared of true military burdens. Europeans will not be able to mobilize their own human resource to fight the aggressor. Europeans will not risk a nuclear catastrophe because of Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia sovereignty. In general, give the Kremlin rats a weak and pulp of Julia! Not us! Julia!

Regardless of whether such a scenario is made or not, the hope of it will mean our moral surrender. Internal willingness to fall out of the Russians in Europe is the death of the Ukraine who has seen itself as part of Europe for many years. It is the birth of a new country that agrees to betray the former ideals and values. And he pleases himself by the fact that these ideals have long been betrayed by hypocritical European partners.

What is able to prevent such a turn of events? The true solidarity of Europe with our country. Solidarity that will not cause any doubt and suspicion in Ukrainian society. Solidarity that will encourage millions of Ukrainians to feel like Europeans but not an EU live shield. And whether this task will cope with this task, we will see in the near future.
