Give 5,000 newborn children a glorious gift
All children born in 2025 are given a baby bonus. Children’s bonus is a new project that Bonus has launched to support the backing of families with families with children.
« Barn bonus is a glorious starting pack with the necessary products that should be useful to the newborn child and its parents in the first months after birth, » said Björgvini Víkingsson, Bonus Managing Director, from a press release.
The package includes infant bugs, diapers, wet wipes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, ladies’ ties, pacifiers, creams, face creams for the mother, leakage and mild detergent. Parents can sign up for bonus.is/barnabonus.

« Light on financial worries with newly baked parents »
« The idea of a baby bonus originally comes from Finland, but the children’s box in that country has been one of the most well -known and effective social projects of Finland since the middle of the 20th century, » said Bergen.
The Finnish state established the children’s box in 1938 to support new parents and reduce poverty that was then widespread in the country. The gift was to ensure that parents of newborn children had access to the necessary products and equipment and that all children were given the same opportunity in the beginning, regardless of the parents’ economy.
Barn bonus is an idea of a similar nature and the products in the box are selected in collaboration with professionals, including Helga Reynisdóttir midwife.
« The box will have products for the baby, but this time, first after birth, is the time of change, wonder and discoveries, » according to Helga from the announcement. Therefore, it is important for parents that they are in balance and their well -being of mental and physical health.
« Such a gift is a big part of increasing well -being at this time and relieving the financial worries of newly baked parents. »
All in all, it is expected to give 5,000 baby bonus boxes this year, totaling at least 150 million ISK.
