Ghelamco recorded a loss of 323.9 million euros in 2024. That announces the company of Paul Gheysens on Wednesday evening via a press release.
In 2024, Ghelamco Group achieved a net loss of 323.9 million euros, of which 198.5 million euros in the first half of 2024, mainly as a result of exceptional losses. The loss on ‘The Arc’ of 119 million euros was already known as well as on ‘The Warsaw Unit’ (52.3 million euros). At The Wings in Diegem, 9.1 million was lost and on the Russian warehouse there is a deposit of 40.3 million euros.
Ghelamco says that Paul Gheysens « has already managed to insure transactions that cover a substantial part of the Belgian bonds, and that it can reasonably expect that they will be fully repaid on their expiry date. » Ghelamco Invest has to repay a bond of 80.1 million on 14 June. It is not clear how much cash has already been found, and how much still needs to be found.
In the review of the Revisor there is an explanatory section in which Revisor KPMG notes that there is uncertainty about the capacity to repay 420 million euros in debts that expire within 12 months. 80 million of these consists of the bond debt of Ghelamco Invest, the Belgian cluster. The revisor approves the annual report.
Striking: Shortly after the figures were announced, FC Antwerp, the football club of Gheysens, announced a press conference in which CEO Sven Jaecques will give an update on Thursday afternoon about Tribune 2 of the Bosuil Stadium. The demolition of it should have already started, but was postponed without an explanation.
