Getting together: family day in Narva

The head of the House of the Estonian language of the integration fund Anna Farafonova: “Our holiday is a great opportunity to spend the day with the family, meet friends, make new acquaintances and feel the energy of good neighborliness.”

On Saturday, May 10, from 12 p.m. to 17.00 the House of the Estonian language of the integration fund invites all residents of Ida-Virumaa and guests of the region to a family day, which will be held in the Narva art resident (Yoala St.) and in the surrounding territory. The holiday will be a great opportunity for communication, joint creativity and strengthening social ties.

-We are waiting for the holiday of everyone-both Narvityans and guests from other corners of Ida-Virumaa. The focus is people, their initiatives, interaction. Such events help to feel: you are not alone, nearby – a community, ”emphasizes the head of the Estonian Language House Anna Farathonova.

“Our holiday is a great opportunity to spend a day with a family, meet friends, make new acquaintances and feel the energy of good neighborliness,” says Anna Farathonova.

The family day program is compiled so that everyone – from kids to their grandparents – could find a lesson to their liking. The main difference between this holiday is its interactivity: here you are not just spectators, you are participants!

Family Coordinator Evgeny Tymoshchuk: “Family day is a holiday where you are not just spectators, you are participants!”

– This is not just a concert or festival where they come to see. This is a space for joint creativity, living communication and new acquaintances. And sometimes – and the starting point for the start of friendship or even joint projects that can develop the life of communities, ”says Evgeny Tymoshchuk, coordinator of the event.

What awaits guests of the holiday?

The family day program in Narva, which will be held on May 10 on the territory of the Narva art residence, promises to be saturated, diverse and truly warm.

The holiday will begin with a grand opening at noon, after which the guests are waiting for master classes, creative classes and fascinating meetings both in the premises of the art resident and outdoors.

In the morning, everyone can find a lesson to their liking. Someone will plunge into the magical world of European fairy tales along with the charismatic storyteller Polina Cherkasova, and someone under the guidance of masters from Avinurme will master ancient crafts and with their own hands will be able to make jewelry from wood chips or paint wood products.

Professional artist Silvan is a virtuoso ride on a monocoles. On the family day, he will demonstrate his skills and will conduct small juggling workshops for everyone.

Fans of bright shows will pleasantly surprise the professional artist Sylvana – virtuoso driving on a monocoles, who moved from France to Estonia about 10 years ago. He will not only present his exciting performance, but also conduct small juggling master classes for everyone.

At the same time, football freestyeler Eno Lints will amaze the audience with spectacular tricks with the ball and charge the participants with confidence, ease of movement and love for the game. And most importantly – he will show that everyone can learn how to own the ball as skillfully as himself. And those who are interested in the history of their hometown will be interesting to participate in excursions on the layout of the Krenholm manufactory.

A special place in the program is occupied by a communal garden near the art residence building. The participants in the holiday will be offered not only to observe, but also to take part in its development: plant seedlings, exchange seedlings or even arrange their own beds, which can be looked after all summer.

At 15.00, guests of the holiday will have the opportunity to take part in joint singing under the control of the tandem choir of the House of the Estonian language. Songs will be prepared for all participants, so even those who came for the first time will be able to safely sing along. This will become one of the most spiritual moments of the day – not because the voices will merge in unison, but because everyone will feel: joint singing brings together, fills with joy and creates an amazing feeling of unity.

We will sing together under the control of the tandem choir of the House of the Estonian language!

The holiday will end with a live concert of the popular Estonian folk group Curly Strings. Their music is a subtle line between tradition and modernity, sincerity and energy.

Throughout the day, food tracks will work on the territory.

The holiday is open to everyone, the entrance is free.

How important it is to feel that you are not one

-Why did you choose the Krenholm area, the Narva art resident to hold a family day? – asked NG with the organizers of the upcoming holiday.

– For several reasons. Firstly, for our holidays, we choose a new location each time. We have already held events in the EV 100 park, in the linden fossa, and now we paid attention to Krenholm – we really wanted to show the beauty, the uniqueness of this part of Narva, ”Anna Farafonova explains. – For the Narvityans, a family day will be a good reason to look at visiting, for residents of other cities and regions, perhaps, for the first time, to see our Krengolm or get to know him closer, to visit one of the famous ancient buildings of Krengolm architecture. Secondly, we have developed a good partnership with Narva art residence. It is enough to recall the last year’s special project of the Estonian House in Narva “Spring School of Garden Fei”, which we successfully implemented in cooperation with the Narva art resident-developed a communal garden around Joal, 18.

A special place in the program is occupied by a communal garden near the art resident building: it will be possible to plant your seedlings, exchange seedlings.

“I see that art residence uses the desire to help the formation of active local communities, create a platform for cooperation, as well as a desire to help people to realize what they can do a lot on their own, their own, with their resources,” continues the head of the Estonian language of the integration fund.

– Common life is support and confidence in the future. It was always so. And this is especially true in our troubled time. Life in the community is mental health, this is a sense of safety. Because you know that not one, ”the head of the Estonian language house is sure.
