After the Easter holidays and extended weekend, the return to everyday life begins. Thousands of citizens who spent the holidays on travel or visiting the family return home.
– We expect the biggest crowds on the Bregana – Lipovac highway, including border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The waiting will surely exceed two or three hours, since there was a lot to leave the Republic of Croatia. The crowds will also be on the A1 motorway in the interior direction. Considering the weather conditions announced – the rain in the mountain areas, we appeal to drivers to adjust speed and driving the road conditions – she said Ivana Mislov from HAK, reports RTL.
Although the situation is repeated year after year, most passengers continue to decide to go on a ‘last minute’ trip. A special example is the island of Krk, where the ‘narrow throat’ of the traffic ‘cannot handle such an influx of vehicles at once, which often results in miles of columns and long waiting.
– Somehow he was divorced to go to Krk because there were a lot of them on Wednesday, Thursday, so Friday, so they were not so drastic crowds, ”says Mislov.
Particularly traffic will be on the outlets from the highway to larger cities such as Zagreb, Split and Rijeka, as well as at the main border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.
– There are specific Stara Gradiška, Jasenovac, Slavonski Brod, Županja, Bajakovo already standard. Old Gradiška is among those where the crowds are constantly from Monday to Sunday – she concluded.
